The Waukegan Housing Authority (WHA) remains committed to creating quality living environments as a foundation for individuals to achieve their full potential. WHA management continues to monitor local health guidance and will adjust operations per CDC and IDPH recommendations. Effective July 6, 2021, the Authority’s office is open Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm by appointment. Masks are still required for ALL visitors to any Authority office and asks everyone to respect social distancing. Staff will continue to work remotely on Fridays until further notice.
Some community events, inspections, briefings, and activities remain postponed. Our offices will continue to accept vital documents via email, fax or drop box (located outside our main office).
WHA’s leadership team understands that these changes may present an inconvenience for the public however, the health and safety of our clients and the community are of the utmost importance to our agency’s mission.
We will continue to monitor federal, state and local ordinances surrounding COVID-19 and communicate any needed changes appropriately.

As of March 2021 WHA has resumed inspections on an as needed basis. Any affected voucher holder and landlord will be notified prior to their scheduled appointment and in regard to any follow-ups as needed. All inspection staff will be following State of Illinois recommended safety procedures including the use of PPE and asks everyone to respect social distancing and mask guidelines.
